just south of Blackpool is a place called St anne's. This si one of the most amazing beaches I've seen. It's massive and hardly a dog walker in sight. I was flying there last night, wind was about 30mph and I had the little 2m Quattro up. The sand is very hard and flat and the tide doesn't seem to come in this far to it's dry too. There were a couple of others out as i arrived but they soon packed up as the wind speed increased (northern woofters).
To give you an idea of it's size when the tide is out imagine Camber twice the size and with just a couple of kiters out.
Unfortunatley there is a board and buggy ban still in place on the beach due to a fatal sand yaght accident about 6 years ago. There is an ongoing dialogue between interestred parties to try and resolve this.
The closest kite shop is Hangtime Kites based in Fleetwood which is just north of Blackpool.
All in all if your heading uop that way pack a kite and give it a go. I'm back up here next week and the kites coming with me
